Helen is a ceramic artist based in Oslo, Norway. She graduated with an MFA from Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Time, repetition and materiality are key words in her process. Her background as massage therapist and years of ballet dancing dominates her approach to the material. Helen builds ceramic compositions by pressing bits of clay together repeatedly until creating forms. The body’s experience with repetition, time, and music contributed to her particular rhythmic language, which fits between improvisation and tight choreography.

Helen est une artiste céramiste basée en Norvège. Elle a obtenu sa maîtrise aux Beaux-Arts à l’Académie nationale des arts d’Oslo. Le temps, la répétition et la matérialité sont les mots clés de son processus artistique. Sa formation de massothérapeute et ses années de danse classique dominent son approche du matériau. Helen construit des compositions en pressant des morceaux d’argile jusqu’à ce qu’ils créent des formes. L’expérience du corps avec la répétition, le temps et la musique a contribué à son langage rythmique particulier, qui se situe entre l’improvisation et la chorégraphie serrée.
