Bill is an Australian born Ceramic Artist. A Graduate of fine arts from the University of Southern Queensland. Bill has spent a lifetime of some 39 years working with ceramics. He is currently Vice President of Ceramic Arts Queensland and is a recipient of a Career Development Grant from Arts Queensland. Renowned as a master of both the potter’s wheel and the demanding crystalline glaze, Bill has built a reputation for outstanding practise, conducting workshops both nationally and internationally. His studio, Bill Powell Art & Design, sits on an acre of land, nestled in the foothills of the Gold Coast in Queensland. In addition to his ceramic practise, Bill works with kiln formed glass, creating unique combinations of both medium within his designs. Bill Powell exhibits regularly and is represented by Red Hill gallery Brisbane.
